The Practice

In a Spanda Vinyasa Yoga practice you will experience a progressive sequence (Vinyasa Karma) of physical postures and movements that are coordinated with your breath. The practice will vary each time as it will be adjusted based on the season, time, context, and of course you! It will, however, always have the same goal: bringing stillness to the constant fluctuations of our mind

We pursue this goal by working on two levels.

  1. Physically, through an intelligent sequence of physical postures we work on postural alignment, muscular fortification and joint flexibility

  2. More subtle level of Mind and Spirit by coordinating these physical movements with our breath.

By coordinating movement with breath we focus our mind, encouraging it to be fully present in the moment. This mindful practice will leave you feeling a sense of greater inner peace and wellbeing.

About Me

My name is Claudia. I started practicing yoga when I was 15 with an amazing and dedicated teacher (totally by chance). What started out as a physical asana practice soon became a time to slow down and practice awareness to gain perspective within and align body, mind, and emotions.

In 2018 I finally decided to listen to my intuition and dive deeper into all the facets of this discipline that I love, from philosophy to anatomy, biomechanics, subtle anatomy, Ayurveda by completing my first Yoga Alliance certified teacher training. Followed by a prenatal teacher training in 2020.

I hope to transmit what I have learned, and has worked for me, through our practice to you. I am at the beginning of my path and I feel honored to be walking on it with you.

Brief Introduction to Yoga and Its Benefits

Before we begin, I'd like to briefly explain what yoga is and what its benefits are.

Yoga is an ancient discipline originating from India that integrates body, mind, and spirit through physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation. One of the many definitions of the word “yoga" is union, indicating the harmonious integration of all aspects of our being.

The benefits of yoga are numerous and include:

  1. Physical Benefits:

    • Improves flexibility, strength, and balance.

    • Relieves pain and reduces muscle tension.

    • Promotes better posture and spinal health.

  2. Mental Benefits:

    • Reduces stress and anxiety.

    • Enhances concentration and mental clarity.

    • Fosters a sense of calm and inner well-being.

  3. Emotional and Spiritual Benefits:

    • Increases self-awareness and connection with oneself.

    • Promotes a positive attitude and greater emotional resilience.

    • Encourages a sense of peace and harmony.

Practicing yoga regularly helps balance the body's energies, improving overall health and well-being.
